What is a Metairie?

Once upon a time, a Métairie was an agricultural commune in Western France. Today, the 2010 version, Les Métairies Equidale is an equestrian community where to start 5 handpicked landowners will share an outdoor exercise arena of more than 5 acres including a field hunter course of more than 30 obstacles, a warm-up area, a training track and of course on the best possible footing: sand! Kilometres of forest trails reserved for riding and hiking surround the estate. Most of the immediate trails and exercise area are cleared of snow during the winter season.

Les Métairies Equidale was created out of the passion, the one that all equestrians share, the “passion for horses”. This real estate development exclusively dedicated to the equestrian sport (5 lots for farmettes) is located in Ste-Adèle, in the beautiful Laurentian region,  north of Montréal. The owners inspired themselves from the equestrian communities of the South Eastern United States, to lay the groundwork of this unique project in the province of Quebec.

The Estate :

Build your dream home and equestrian facilities on our lots ranging in size of 6 to 10 acres. Through controlled architecture, harmony with your surroundings and nature is ensured, and the overall concept is respected. To accommodate your horses, you can choose between your own built stables and paddocks or paddocks and shelters only. Under certain conditions, one may board their horses at a central stable with an interior heated arena, located on the estate within 100 metres of the access to the main exercise area. Whatever option one may choose, you are required, at the very least, to have paddocks with shelters; the inevitables of an equestrian community! All parcels of our equestrian development are either bordered by a river or a creek and all grounds of the estate are of sand.
